So I’ve seen people get upset, throw their hands up, give the bird to passebys, etc. but I saw my first legit case of road rage the other morning on the drive into work. Like we are talking crazy lady, going off the handle, ready to kill the other person in the car and probably end up killing herself. And all I could do was stare! Here’s the chain of events as I remember them:
o Lady in Xterra is behind an 18-wheeler during early morning rush hour. She probably has left about half a cars length between her and the truck.
o Smaller Buick car has right blinker on and wants to get in front of the Xterra so they can get off at the next exit.
o Xterra Lady jumps on her horn as the Buick is trying to get over and REFUSES to let the Buick over.
o Buick immediately whips back into original lane and slams on the brakes probably because of nerves.
o Xterra refuses to budge and continues to lay on horn the whole time (much to the annoyance of other drivers like myself). While doing this she is screaming and convulsing in her car.
o Buick again has blinker on and tries to get in the Xterra’s lane again (I think you know where this is headed).
o Crazy Xterra lady again slams on the horn and once the Buick gets in her lane, immediately speeds up to his tailgate.
o Buick proceeds to get off the interstate at previously mentioned exit
o I’ve lost sight of crazy Xterra lady (thank God) until about five minutes later. She passes me while looking at her cell phone. All I can say is WOW! Ironic-don’t ya think?
I’m hoping you have gotten a good visual of this whole event because it was something straight out of a movie. And to top it all off when she passes me I notice a “My child is a Honor Roll student” and a daycare sticker on the back of her Xterra, which has now made me nervous for her kids, especially if she hasn’t had a cup of coffee yet. If this is what happens when you have kids (this being that your head starts spinning and you have an out of body experience), then no thank you! Let’s just hope it was a fluke and she was having a bad morning.
I’ll let you know if I see crazy Xterra woman again..Would love to hear about you Road Rage moments!
